4.3.3 Jailbreak Is Out
In rapid succession, the Dev Team/I0n1c have released the jailbreak for the recently released iOS 4.3.3 released by Apple earlier this week.
As with the jailbreak for 4.3.1 and 4.3.2, the 4.3.3 jailbreak can be used either by Redsn0w or PwnageTool available on the Dev Team’s site. Those still seeking an unlock or maintaining their 1.59 baseband will need to use PwnageTool only. Those who don’t care about their unlock, fire away with Redsn0w.
Some people are surprised by the rapid release of these jailbreaks just as fast as Apple is releasing updates. While having a jailbreak available for the latest version of iOS is great, the simple fact is that the exploit originally used by I0n1c for the 4.3.1 jailbreak wasn’t closed in the following two iOS updates which allowed the jailbreaks to be released so rapidly. This leads to another question, does Apple not care about closing these exploits or is something else at play? In my opinion (and probably a good majority of other folk) believe is that Apple doesn’t care about closing the exploits…at least in iOS 4+ anyways.
Assuming the rumors regarding the iPhone 5 as well as the ominous release of iOS 5, it would appear that iOS4 is pretty much done and all efforts by Apple’s engineers is being devoted to iOS5 scheduled sometime this year. So, at least for the time being, backup your SHSH’s and pick your iOS 4.3+ jailbreak and sit tight. Should be for an interesting year for jailbreaks and iOS releases.
