App Review: TV.com

TV.com does what it sounds like it does. Though you may think at first it’s a website, it’s actually an app. An app that allows free streaming of some television shows – particularly those from CBS. There are plenty of choices for oldies – Star Trek, a personal favorite, McGyver. There are also newer shows like Beverly Hills 90210 or Blue Bloods. It’s not a vast selection – but it’s free. And any TV is good when it’s free – perhaps with the exception of the history channel.
As far as the actual quality of app goes, it’s not a great one. The ads along the bottom are obtrusive, the organization system isn’t particularly great, and the thing crashes A LOT. Specifically when you receive a text while streaming. However, free is free, right?
There are plenty of apps that allow free television streaming – for example, another one that I use is Crackle. The selection isn’t great, but it’s a good app for when you’re looking for something to watch on the go. I would recommend anyone download it – it’s free on the App Store.
