While this news is not surprising at all tho the majority of us, there has been reports that Apple was planning to release Siri to older generation devices and was currently testing the software on its older generation devices for possible future release.

While many shot down this rumor, it took a little life of its own and Apple has now confirmed that they are currently not planning on releasing Siri to other Apple devices at the current point in time.

While it has been show possible that Siri can run on other devices such as the iPhone 4, iPod Touch and even the iPhone 3GS, Apple is not planning on officially porting the software over to the newer generation devices.

Engineering has provided the following feedback regarding this issue: Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we currently have no plans to support older devices.

So until the Siri port officially or ever does come out for the iPhone and iPad, it looks like we are going to be stuck with Siri-less devices unless you are the owner of a brand new iPhone 4S.

Are you disappointed that Apple is not porting Siri to its earlier generation devices? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
