A Couple of Fun iOS Glitches

If someone were to ever find a way to mass distribute an iOS virus, it would heavily devastate the platform. The reason that no virus will ever make it on to the platform is because Steve Job and Apple heavily guard the platform and prevent anything harmful from coming in.

Despite this, there is jailbreaking, which occurs through a small hole in the software or hardware that allows you to mod iOS any way that you would like too. While jailbreaking opens your phone, it doesn’t add any viruses.

Comex, the jailbreak hacker famous for his JailbreakMe site, recently tweeted out a couple of fun, harmless bug in the software. You can easily access these harmless bugs through Mobile Safari.

The first bug allows you to access a fake FaceTime call by typing in facetime-accept://*. This allows you to access the FaceTime call window. In addition, you can change the name of the caller to whatever you please. For example, if you wanted to impress your friends, you could say that Johnny Ive is calling you to show you the next iPhone design. Just a thought.

Another fun glitch is tellock://, which sends your iOS device to the lock screen. The odd thing about this glitch this is that you can get out of this lock screen simply by pressing the homebutton.

These glitches are more novelties than anything entertaining and worthwhile. What do you guys think?
