Cydia Not Working; Compatibility Fix?
I’ve been trying to access Cydia for a while now, and at first I thought it was maybe my internet connection, first I tried on the iPad, and then the iPod Touch, and it was even down for the iPhone, so I went to my trusty Twitter and learned that everyone is having this problem.
Please understand first that Cydia its self is working, just not the “home page” or “Landing page” as some call it. You can still download and remove packages as normal.
It would be reasonable to assume that, due to the fact that Cydia hasn’t been working with the RedsnOw jailbreak (or any others that I know of) upon the GM release of iOS 4.2 a few weeks ago that, Saurik is working on dealing with compatibility issues, now that iOS 4.2 final was released this morning.
I’m fairly sure that the changes would be mostly cosmetic, (the home page is only HTML after all) but who knows, it has been rumored for a while now that cydia was going to undergo a speed up.
I’m not sure what is going on with Cydia right now, I can only speculate, but it sure would be nice if the iPhone Dev-Team says tomorrow or Wednesday that Cydia is working for the new jailbreaks, wouldn’t it? Let us know your thoughts and we’ll keep you up to date on the Cydia fix.
EDIT: Cydia is now back up and working as of 9PM Central time, might have been working sooner, but thats when I was sure!
