How to Install Siri DICTATION on iPhone 4, 3GS, and iPod touch 4

Many of us were very irritated that absolutely NO Siri features were included with iOS 5 for one generation older devices like the iPhone 4, 3GS, and the iPod touch 4th, and 5th generation. However, I have come across one way to install the dictation that Siri includes. This means that you will be able to say something to the iPhone, and it will instantly input what you have just said. I must say though, before you read the whole article, you MUST be jailbroken for this. There is no code as of now to put in and edit the backup file of your device.

Requirements:

Jailbroken iPhone 4, 3GS, or 4th/5th generation iPod touch

iOS 5.0+ (only a tethered JB as of now for 5.0, not tested with iOS 4)

1. First you obviously must open up Cydia. Then, go to your sources page and add a new one.

2. Input the address EXACTLY as you see below.

http://cydia.myrepospace.com/0xjf

3. Open up the new source and download Sirious. Once you are finished with the downloading process your device you will have Siri dictation, and will have at least one cool feature that Apple has meanly left out for older devices.

Remember that I or anyone at Johnsiphone.com are responsible of the bricking of anyone’s iDevice. (There is a tutorial on how to unbrick a device here) So you are trying this at your own risk. But, trust me that it is a safe source, and good to download. I’m pretty sure that someone will release an untethered jailbreak in the next two to three weeks, so you might want to stick around for updates on that, as simply just rebooting your device could make you lose your jailbreak,

I haven’t posted many articles lately, but more will be more to come! It is sure to be one of Apple’s most newsworthy year!
