iPhone 4S Confirmed?

According to Mark Gurman from 9to5Mac, it looks as if the iPhone 4S is confirmed. The 4S is expected to be a upgrade similar to the iPhone 3G to the 3GS. It is expected to be spec upgrade of a dual-core processor, 8 MP camera and the addition to Sprint to the networks that the phone will join.

The name iPhone 4S was released within the new iTunes 10.5 beta software that was seeded to developers. It was found that when an iPhone 4S is connected to iTunes, a picture of a CDMA iPhone would be put on the screen.

This confirms two things. One is that the iPhone 4S will be a world phone that will be compatible on all the networks that the iPhone 4S is going to be released on. The other is that the iPhone 4S will only a internal upgrade, with the phone most likely looking just like the current CDMA iPhone.

I personally really hope that they update the iPhone to a 5 AND 4S. I release of just a 4S would be extremely disappointing and I probably would not upgrade to this iPhone.

What are your thoughts on the iPhone 4S being all but confirmed? Will you be picking it up if its just a 4S upgrade?
