Mac OSX 10.6.5 before iOS 4.2… No more Airprint?
Well, it seems Apple released Mac OS X 10.6.5 today, ahead of iOS 4.2, which is said to be needed in order to be able to utilize and support networked printers for the iPhone and iPad’s AirPrint ability coming with iOS 4.2, however, there have been many rumors thrown around stating that AirPrint has been pulled from iOS 4.2, or otherwise postponed.
Let me assure you, according to Steve Jobs in a reply to the folks at Macrumors, it has not been pulled. Although he does leave room to question whether or not networked printers like the HPs will be in there. And if some how AirPrint is pulled, that, along with the issues of the release date for the white iPhone, leads me to believe that many people will start to feel a bit shaky about Apple’s credibility.
I will do my best to test out the new OS X and the GM iOS 4.2 for air print, but right now I can’t promise anything.
If you have already updated to the new OS X and you have iOS 4.2 GM let us know how it’s working for you!
