The Possibility of Longer Battery Life for an iDevice

Recently, it seems, AppleInsider discovered a Patent filling named “Increasing Energy Density in Rechargeable Lithium Battery Cells,” which will use a technique, described as using “Multi-step constant-current constant=voltage (CC-CV) charging technique,” to charge a battery.

The patents also go into detail about new charging methods, which will reduce the degrading of a battery’s life span over time.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of having to stare at my iPhone and iPad as I watch the battery bar slowly diminish, so the fact that Apple is actually doing the research to find methods that could possibly help make lithium batteries run longer seems like a good idea to me.

So, what do you think about the possibility of newer, longer-lasting batteries? Are you all for it or does it sound a little too much like the Energizer bunny? Let me know in your comments, I look forward to reading them!
