Has Steve Jobs Perfected the TV Concept?

Rumors of an Apple LCD TV have been going around in the rumor mill for years and years. Apple has always doubted whether or not it would be smart to go into the market because it is expensive, risky, and there might not even be a big market for the product. In addition, the market is less controllable than the manufacturer than the current smartphone and tablet market. Jobs always felt that the cable companies always had more control over TV than the manufacturer.

An interesting bit from the new biography from Walter Isaascon about Steve Jobs has maybe provided the information that Jobs may have figured out the TV industry and how to revolutionize it.

“He very much wanted to do for television sets what he had done for computers, music players, and phones: make them simple and elegant,” Isaacson wrote.

Isaacson continued: “‘I’d like to create an integrated television set that is completely easy to use,’ he told me. ‘It would be seamlessly synced with all of your devices and with iCloud.’ No longer would users have to fiddle with complex remotes for DVD players and cable channels. ‘It will have the simplest user interface you could imagine. I finally cracked it.”

Would you purchase an Apple LCD TV?
