White iPod Touch On It’s Way

There are plenty of die-hard iPhone fans out there. But what people don’t realize is the incredible popularity of the iPod Touch as well – especially among teens, or those not yet ready to move up to a smartphone. People were excited last September when Apple released the latest iPod Touch with not only one camera, but two. And then the rumors seemed to die down – there’s just not as much hype around the Touch. But now, is another iPhone feature coming to the iPod?

I’m not talking about internals – I’m talking colour. It was a big deal when Apple finally released the “unicorn” phone, the iPhone 4 in white. Now that they seem to have gotten the process down for getting the perfect shade of white, it appears they’re bringing the colour option to the iPod Touch line in addition to the iPhone and iPad.

There has been a leak of a headphone jack used only in the iPod touch – but in white this time, instead of black. Apple – known for it’s attention to detail – always colours the headphone jack along with the rest of the phone. So if this leak is the real thing, it can only point to a white iPod Touch 5th generation.

What else do we have in store for the next in the iPod Touch line? The rumor mill has been pretty dry on that one – but we can probably expect a camera upgrade, and battery. Perhaps Apple will go even thinner, though some people believe that the current model is as thin as it should get – or too thin.

Either way, I think we’re all excited to see what Apple has in store for it’s most popular iPod line – assuming they release it in September as they usually do, and not bump it to make room for the iPhone 5.
